”FEISTY SIDE OF FIFTY” RADIO
SPECIAL EDITION TO CELEBRATE
100th ANNIVERSARY OF INTERNATIONAL
WOMEN’S DAY, 11:00 AM (EST)
8:00 AM (PST) MARCH 5!
We are dedicating a special edition of “Feisty Side of Fifty Radio,” to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day which is March 8, 2011.
Our program will be broadcast “LIVE” on:
Saturday, March 5 – 11:00 a.m. EST, 8:00 a.m. PST.
We hope the program will inspire you to join with other women in your community and around the world to celebrate this day and take action to empower women and girls.
Too often women’s voices are missing in boardrooms, centers of government and society at large. We want women to make their voices heard, to continue our generation’s mission of promoting equality and empowerment for women and girls, and parity of rights for all the world’s citizens.
We want to women to share their stories – with each other and on sites like Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org). The New York Times and Women’s Media Center recently reported that women were underrepresented on Wikipedia.
Women’s Voices Missing from Wikipedia…
“On a site that boasts 3,546,580 articles in the English language alone, only 13% of the 143,252 active users (users who have performed an action within the last 30 days) are women. With such a small percentage of female contributors, a large part of history remains untold and misrepresented.”
