Hi Suzanne! I just finished "Inventing the Rest of our Lives" and, like so many others, felt you were voicing my thoughts about what matters, what works and what's next! I am 59 and completing an MA in Adult Development/Positive Psychology after being 'downsized' from the corporate world 2 years ago. I registered a life strategies business a few months ago and have been working with women, age 40 and above, asking all the questions you addressed. My next goal is initiating weekend retreats and seminars as a path to an authentic voice. Thank you so much for your honesty and clarity....and I have also contacted so many of the resources in the back of the book!
Second Adulthood is a new life stage, and because we are the first generation to experience it, we are making it up as we go along. When we share our doubts and discoveries with our "circle of trust" - that handful of cherished friends who keep us laughing â we are defining our new lives for ourselves and each other. This blog is meant to be a part of that conversation.
Please post your ideas, insights, anecdotes, concerns, and especially your personal stories. We are all experts in our own lives, and when we share that expertise we learn, among other things, that we are not alone.
